Hi Folk
We are Rackhouse Pilfer, a 6 piece alt country, bluegrass band who were born during acoustic sessions in McGarrigle's Bar in Sligo early 2012 where we played our favourite bluegrass, Americana and folk hits. The sessions instantly become really popular and we still enjoy our thriving Monday night residency in McG’s, packing the place to the rafters.
Since then, we have been on the musical journey of our lives. This has seen us perform at some of Irelands biggest festivals and venues including the world famous Omagh folk park bluegrass festival, Body and Soul, Sligo Live, Whelan’s, Monroe’s and Crane Lane amongst others. We also embarked on our first European tour this summer where we performed at festivals in France, Italy and Switzerland.
We released our debut album, “Back to the Country” at The Model Arts Centre Sligo, filling the venue to capacity and insuring a night that will go down in Sligo’s musical legend. The first album contains a collection of our own renditions of some of our favourite tunes.
We are now ready to return to the studio to record our second album, this time of all original material and with the help of a London based producer. We have secured the use of a professional recording studio and have saved 50% of the necessary budget through gigging and touring over the past year.
You can help us to do this independently
We would love to do this on our own and that is why we are looking for you to come on board and help us with the remaining 50% necessary to make this happen. Your funding will help pay for the studio, producer, mixing, mastering and CD production. In short your contribution will help to make this happen.
We plan to get tucked into recording this winter and to release the album in Spring 2014 and would love to see you all at our album launch! If you’d like to find out more about us, check out our website: www.rackhousepilfer.com, or have a listen on youtube: Rackhouse Pilfer, Angela
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and to consider our proposal. We’d love to have you on board and hope that you’ll find something amongst our rewards which strikes a chord with you.
Leon, Leslie, Willie, Fiachra, Mark and Hugh – the Rackhouse Pilferers!
