PHOEBE AT THE PEPPER CANISTER LUNCHTIME SUNDAY JUNE 21st

My name is Phoebe White and I am an 18 year old violinist. This Fund it project is to help launch my career as a professional violinist. I will be performing a lunchtime recital along with some friends in the Pepper Canister Church on 21st June. Although I have been a performing violinist since the age of 3, this recital will be my first fully professional concert and it is aimed at launching my career and my further studies as a professional musician.

Recently I was awarded a "Premier Young Artist Award" scholarship to study at the Jacobs’ School of Music, Indiana University (IU) with Professor Mauricio Fuks. Professor Fuks is respected worldwide as a truly exceptional violin teacher and I am thrilled that he has selected me and he believes in me. Over the past five years I have come to know him as the most inspiring individual in my life. He is a never-ending well of wisdom and knowledge and I know he has high hopes for me when I start studying with him full time in August. The scholarship I have been awarded covers my tuition, but there are significant other fees and costs such as registration, accommodation and travel. This recital will not only launch my career, but also help contribute towards my costs and facilitate my continuing performing career both at home and abroad. I really hope that as many people as possible support my recital to make it a resounding success! I will present a dynamic programmie of exciting and beautiful music with some very special guests including my duo partner, the brilliant young pianist, Peter Regan and my brother, cellist Kllian White. The recital will be at the Pepper Canister Church Upper Mount Street Dublin @ 12.30PM on Sunday June 21st. Please everybody come along I promise it will be a fantastic gig!

Below is a short bio of some of my musical achievements so far.

Phoebe White studied violin with Fionnuala Hunt at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Phoebe has won numerous ensemble and solo competitions at the Electric Ireland Feis Ceoil, and internationally the Noor Musik Solo Violin competition Estonia. She has been awarded the National Concert Hall Young Musician's Award (2013-2015), and is currently the leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland. Recently she won the Maura Dowdall Award at the RIAM which resulted in an invitation to perform as soloist with the RTE Concert Orchestra. She has also been invited to perform as soloist at Carnegie Hall New York in October 2015 by Dr Julie Jordan of the Julliard Music School.
