Lorg Printmakers is a non-profit twenty-four hour access print workshop and artists' resource organisation, committed to providing facilities and opportunities to emerging and established artists. Lorg has hosted a diverse program of exhibitions, and talks, outreach projects, exchanges, training and education programmes, open days and events. We are committed to collaboration with other arts organizations on a local, national and international level, striving to promote printmaking as a dynamic, innovative, contemporary medium.
From April 11th, 2013, we will hold a large exhibition in Galway city as part of Adapt Galway, a coalition of local visual arts organizations. These groups are working together to create a united vision for the visual arts in Galway. The Shed is a 4,000 square foot industrial warehouse located at Middle Pier at Galway City Harbour, which has played host to a year-long programme of dynamic exhibitions and events. For more information, see www.theshedgalway.blogspot.com.
Lorg Presents: will bring an exciting and engaging exhibition, providing a platform to display high-quality work both to the public and to our contemporaries. Works in the show will respond to ideas of the dialogue between the production and consumption of information, focusing on the subjectivity of data and culturally adopted conventions.
We have already received some funding for this project, but we need your help to complete the process!
Your support will assist us with the cost of installation, promotion, documentation, transport and material costs of this exhibition. Any assistance you could give would be greatly appreciated and we would like to thank you in advance for your support.
We are offering some unique, handcrafted rewards in return for your support. Images of rewards will be posted on our facebook page during this campaign.
