The Killruddery Film Festival is an annual three-day event established in 2009. Its program consists of film screenings, workshops and discussions, all in the beautiful surroundings of Killruddery House and Gardens. This year the festival is being programmed by film maker Andrew Legge, actress Serena Brabazon and artist Fionnuala Ardee.
We screen around twelve features and a selection of shorts with a strong emphasis on silent cinema. About half the features shown will be from the silent era. All the silents are screened with live musical accompaniment.
We will also be hosting workshops on music improvisation and composition, discussions with festival guests, a cabaret evening and dinners in the magical gardens. And we hope to once again be hosting Sean Moncrieff's Movies and Booze on the opening Friday. The aim is to create a fun little festival in a convivial and friendly environment with plenty of fine food and booze.
The festival is volunteer run but the print fees, guest travel, technical stuff and the live musical element add up - this is where any money raised on Fund It will go.
We'd be very grateful for any support possible and do come and join us on the 19th - 21st September.
