Kilkee Moments - A Shared Album

By Kilkee Moments

description

Jerome B. Murphy, from Newport and Haidee McMahon, from Clare started the Kilkee Moments project in early 2011 in aid of a voluntary organisation called the Kilkee Marine Rescue Service. Jerome is an amateur photographer and Haidee has a keen interest in art. Professionally, their background is in information technology and together they decided to use social media to create a book about Kilkee, a well loved town in Co. Clare. They chose to create this book for the Kilkee Marine Rescue Service as Haidee's husband and father had been previously rescued from the perils of the sea by this heroic group. Haidee's family holiday in Kilkee every year.

Kilkee Moments is a high quality, hard back, full colour, coffee table book of photographs submitted by the public about Kilkee, Co. Clare. The book is due to be published in summer 2012 and all profits will go to The Kilkee Marine Rescue Service to help purchase a new rescue boat next year.

The project is primarily run through the project's Facebook site, also called Kilkee Moments and to date the Kilkee Moments team have received over 3000 photos from Kilkee lovers in over 20 different countries. The photos can be of any subject in Kilkee, from past to present. The idea is to showcase everything that Kilkee has to offer. A big thank you to Laura Maye who kindly volunteered to make this great video for our project.

Please help fund the Kilkee Moments project. The money raised will go towards the publication costs. In return, you will receive some really cool gifts and you will also help save some lives!!

Thank you :-)
