Iron Mountain has been together, in its present form, for two years as an original instrumental group based in Limerick City. The band consists mainly of Bass, Drums, Guitar, Uilleann Pipes, Flute & Violin, along with other accompanying instruments. With your help and support we hope to record an album by the years end, with an aim to releasing it early next year.
Funding the recording, mastering and production of our debut album will be a difficult and expensive process. In order to achieve it we are asking for help with this project. We have carefully costed the amount needed to bring everything to completion and we hope, with your generosity, that we can bring the whole thing to fruition. The cost being asked for here is not the complete expense, but a substantial chunk of it.
We have seen with many of our contemporaries how Fund it has successfully helped them realise their projects and found them worthwhile and promising endeavours for those at both sides of the project.
Earlier this year we recorded a video for our track ‘Opium’, live in the Franciscan Friary, Limerick (see video). This particular project was self-funded and created to give a sense of what we are trying to achieve musically. So far the feedback we have received has shown us that there is an audience for what we are doing and so given us more encouragement to take it to this next stage.
We will be playing a few shows throughout Ireland in October and November, which will help spread the word about our sound. If we happen by your town, please check us out.
Our plan is to release the finished recordings as an album in the New Year on CD, Download, and Vinyl. This will coincide with more intense touring at home and overseas.
Thanks for taking the time to look over our project and we hope you are interested enough to help us out with it.
