Hidden Highways Debut Album

Hidden Highways is a musical collaboration between Tim V. Smyth and Carol Anne McGowan. Tim hails from Clare and Carol Anne from Donegal. We met while working on another project in Windmill studios in 2009 and finding a shared interest in folk and country music, we started exchanging demos of material in 2010.

Earlier this year under a very limited budget, we recorded and released a 4 track EP as an introduction to the musical mission of Hidden Highways. We both believe in the D.I.Y. ethos and each of the CD’s were screen printed and stamped by ourselves. This EP was a very simple, stripped back, acoustic introduction to our music, including two original tracks and two covers. Since it’s release it has gotten a great response at home and abroad. But now we want to take things a bit further...

After two years of demoing and writing we are ready to record and launch our debut album. It will contain all the best of the original material we have written in that time. In collaboration with our label Out On A Limb Records it will be due for an early 2013 release. And we would like you to be involved in helping us to achieve this next step. Here's how you can help us...

Our fund it campaign will contribute to the recording, mastering, pressing and packaging costs of our album. The figure of €2000 represents half the projected costs. We hope to match the amount raised here to complete this project ourselves. We also plan on inviting guest musicians to contribute to some of our recordings. The album will be available on cd and mp3 and we are very excited about pressing vinyl copies too!

As a final note we would also like to say that we have both made contributions to performers on similar schemes.
