Thank you so much for taking the time to consider funding our project - we are BrokenCrow, a theatre company made up of an annually renewing ensemble and we have two productions under our belt - Mantle (Granary Theatre April 2012) and Madame Chavelle (Ballyvolane House October 2012) both of which were performed to sell out houses.
We are: Deirdre Dwyer, George Hanover, Julie Kelleher, Gavin McEntee, Paula McGlinchey, Eadaoin O'Donoghue, Frank Prendergast and Jon Whitty. Irene O’Mara is our Associate Producer and Ronan Fitzgibbon is our Creative Producer.
Our next production is Bug; an incredible psychological thriller by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts, which we are super-excited about.
Bug will be staged in the Half Moon Theatre from the 6th to the 11th of May 2013.
This gloriously paranoid rollercoaster of a play has shades of William Burroughs, with a dash of David Cronenberg and perhaps just a twist of David Lynch’s Wild At Heart. It tells the story of the relationship between Peter and Agnes as they hold up in Agnes’s motel room and cope with a growing bug infestation, a violently abusive ex-husband, and a figure from Peter's past who threatens to destroy the delicate fabric of the reality they have woven around themselves.
Bug has an incredible team of local talent behind it, all of whom are fully on board on a profit share basis, receiving no guarantee of payment.
Already involved in the production are, on the production side:
Frank Prendergast - Director
Deirdre Dwyer - Design
Carl Kennedy - Sound Design
Eoin Winning - Lighting Design
Irene O'Mara - Producer
And in the cast:
George Hanover - Agnes
Eadaoin O’Donoghue - RC
Chris Schmidt-Martin - Peter
Jon Whitty - Dr Sweet
The problem is as we don’t have a penny to our names we desperately need your help to cover the initial costs of the production. The money raised by this campaign would be used to pay for:
Performance rights for the play
Set materials & construction
Costumes
Props
Printing Costs
We hope that you will see your way to helping us realise our theatrical vision for this spectacular piece of writing - we would be eternally grateful to you.
Our warmest thanks,
Frank Prendergast, BrokenCrow and all on the Bug team.
