Joey Ryan | View Profile
Irish musician Joey Ryan independently released his début album 'Dusk' in 2010 to great acclaim. After touring the UK and Ireland he has begun work on his next album, due out in 2012. Ryan's grounding in artists such as Waits, Dylan, Cave and various 40's blues artists show through in his atmospheric, desolate sounding guitar and gravely voice. Having toured with Mick Flannery, Jack L, Hayseed Dixie, Kelly Joe Phelps to name a few, 2012 is building to be a great year for this Irish artist.
Welcome to my Fund it project! Thank you in advance for coming to check out my project.
I need financial support to fund the recording of my second album, which will be released in 2012. The album has been a year and a half in the making, in terms of writing the album, rewriting the album and exploring new avenues to adventure down musically and artistically as to bring out the best album I feel I can write.

This album is a huge leap for me in terms of my development as a songwriter, my career and musically. After the tremendous response to the last album, Dusk, I was given the opportunity to embark on two UK tours, and three tours of Ireland within the last year, and more recently I went on a triple header tour in Ireland.
I am recording my new album with renowned producer/engineer Gavin Ralston, who's previous clients include Ronnie Drew, Phil Coulter, The Blizzards, Luan Parle, Clive Barnes and Eleanor McEvoy to name a few. As of now, the recording stage has commenced and we are about to go into the next stage of adding instruments and laying down the final takes of the songs, before mixing the album in April next year.
Lined up as the basic band on the album are Johnny Boyle (The Frames, Glen Hansard, Marianne Faithful) on drums and Aongus Ralston (Declan O'Rourke, Picturehouse, Sharron Shannon) on bass. I am very excited to have these musicians involved, and in addition to this there will be strings, brass, piano and of course guitar. However, to achieve this, I am going to need your help!
The terrific thing about Fund it is that it allows everyone to get involved in the projects they choose to, in return for a reward to thank them for their generosity. I'm approaching this project with the idea that these rewards would be 'pre sales' of the new album, and depending on which amount you choose to donate, you would also get an extra acoustic version of the album which is exclusive only to Fund it donations.
To all who donate, the albums will be sent to you one month before the general public release.
Thanks to Fund it, I have a chance to get involved with the people who wish to share in the creation of my album, and this puts me in a position to give back in return for the generosity.
I would like to thank you for reading my project details and taking the time to visit this page. Any donations that can be given will be graciously accepted and tremendously appreciated, and of course, used in the most efficient and effective way. Please feel free to forward this to your friends and spread the word. Thnk you so much.
Yours sincerely,
Joey Ryan
