What is inland?
inland is a group show consisting of eleven photographers. It is part of the Open Programme with PhotoIreland Festival 2012. The theme is based around the idea that during this tough economic climate with many people migrating and leaving their homes that we need to
re-discover our identity within Ireland, on a cultural and personal level.
All the artists who are participating are Irish and felt the need to create work to depict their environs in a way which is not entirely negative . The artists and curators have been working together for months to produce projects which encapsulate this theme. The dedication from both parties has resulted in an aesthetically cohesive collective of work in which all participants feel extremely passionate about.

Where and when will it happen?
inland is going to be held in The Lighthouse Cinema, Smithfield. As being with part of the PhotoIreland Festival, the exhibition will take place in July. The opening night be will the 24th of July and the show will run to the 30th.

Why we need your help?
We need your help to realise this ambitious show we have planned. It is difficult for many of us artists to produce the work in a way in which we have envisioned. We want to be able to take the stress off the artists financially and allow us the freedom to express their work to its full potential. Your kind donations will help towards the overall production of the show. This incorporates many different factors such as the rental of the space and professional printing and archival framing of all the work, which will lend towards an overall professionalism to the show. In order to garner the type of publicity an event like this requires we need to invest a lot of money into promotion and advertising of the event, hospitality on the opening night and a good quality printed catalogue for the show.
